Born in Methuen, MA, Robert Rogers (1731-1795) was a British Army officer and frontiersman who fought in King George's War, the French and Indian War, and the Revolutionary War. During the French and Indian War, Rogers raised and commanded the independent company of soldiers from New Hampshire attached to the British Army, eponymously named "Rogers' Rangers." He executed numerous raids with the Rangers against the French and their Native American allies, often behind enemy lines, in Pennsylvania, New York, and Ohio.
